Improvisation workshop, London 2007
Hot chair
Improvisation game
Description: Building a character without thinking.
Set-up: Participants sit in a semicircle with someone standing in the middle.
Instructions: Players (pretending they're a policeman or a journalist etc.) submit the person sitting in the middle to a quick round of questions about her fictional character. Answers should come quick and remain logical and consistent.
Variation: Several players can be submitted to the hot chair and then go on to improvise a scene with the characters they've built on the chair.
